Program Description

Event Details

Discover the brilliance of Emily Dickinson’s poetry in this engaging four-week series! This series will meet on Tuesdays, January 13, 20, 27 and February 3, from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

Emily Dickinson is often considered one of America’s greatest poets. Yet, while many recognize her name, few have delved deeply into her work. Despite living a reclusive life in Amherst, Massachusetts, Dickinson’s poetry reveals a mind brimming with intellect, curiosity, and emotional depth. She wrote nearly 1,775 poems, yet only published seven in her lifetime, anonymously.

In this series, David Webb will guide participants through 32 of Dickinson’s poems, eight per session, sparking lively discussion and exploration. Whether you’re a longtime admirer or new to her work, this is a chance to read, reflect and wrestle with the words of a literary genius.

By registering for this program, you agree to attend all four sessions. Books will be available for pickup a week before the start of the series.
