Brief Description of Event

A monthly support group whose members represent all forms of organ transplants such as heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, pancreas, corneas, as well as caregivers, those awaiting transplants, and donor families. The purpose of the organization is to provide a place for the sharing of medical experiences among members, to provide public information and education on matters relating to organ transplantation and organ donation, and to provide “support” activities for transplant candidates, recipients, donors and families. The group also fundraises to support its purpose while educating the public. Occasionally guest speakers are brought in to inform members on various topics related to transplantation including insurance and nutritional issues.
