Brief Description of Event
To whom it may concern:
No child lives without risk to violence, neglect, and abuse. Whether it is the toxic stress due to chronic poverty in the community or distressful experiences such as Hurricane Irma and the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. It is imperative that we provide children with immediate and long-term emotional support that enables their recovery while fostering resilience.
The Department of Social Work at Florida Gulf Coast University, in partnership with Save the Children, is pleased to announce that it is offering delivery of the Journey of Hope program to children and caregivers in our Southwest Florida communities. Journey of Hope is a program offering five grade- and age-specific curricula designed to build resiliency among children, youth, and their caregivers, while helping them understand their feelings. Our goal is to collaborate with established agencies and organizations to deliver the Journey of Hope program to children and caregivers throughout our local communities.
We request the use of the library in order to facilitate the attendance for children in our Cape Coral Community.
