Program Description

Event Details

The Lee County Library System is one of only 4 locations in the United States approved for the Citizen Science Pilot Program. This hands-on interactive program will teach you how to become a citizen scientist for NASA. You'll learn how to use the GLOBE app to record and submit your observations to NASA, as well as demonstrate some of the conditions you might encounter in your own backyards.

Tablets will be provided to teams on a first come, first served basis. You are encouraged to get a jumpstart on things by downloading the GLOBE app from the link below.

GLOBE Observer is an international network of citizen scientists and scientists working together to learn more about our shared environment and changing climate. Since GLOBE Observer is part of the GLOBE Program, citizen scientists are also providing data for student research, strengthening science education.

You can learn more about NASA and the GLOBE Program here: https://observer.globe.gov/
