Program Description

Event Details

Come and learn how what we think of as a 'witch' has changed from the past to the present through literature.

From Homer to Harry Potter, bad and good witches have been a fixed part of Western literary tradition. This class will take a light-hearted look at some of history's literary witches.

Among them will be Circe from the Odyssey, Euripides' Medea, Shakespeare's Weird Sisters from Macbeth, the good and bad witches from The Wizard of Oz, and even the witches - old and young - from J.K. Rowling's beloved Harry Potter books.
