Event Details
Join us for a crafty adventure for preteens making phenakistoscopes, a type of animation device. And, with some parental supervision, we’ll attempt to make s’mores in our very own solar ovens.

Supply List:
Phenokistoscope (early animation device) Materials:
- Downloadable Phenokistoscope Templates
- Pencil with an eraser
- Thumbtack
- Scissors
- Colored pencils, markers, optional
- Mirror (a bathroom mirror is fine)
Solar Oven Materials: (requires parental assistance)
- Pizza Box (or a cereal box)
- Black construction paper
- Aluminum foil
- Scissors
- Tape
- Plastic wrap
- Craft Knife (optional and with supervision)
S’mores:
- Marshmallows
- Chocolate Bar
- Graham Cracker
