Brief Description of Event
Property owners, tenants of older buildings, and community members knowledgeable about local history are invited to participate in upcoming public meetings related to a Historic Architecture Survey.
In Fall 2025, RC Goodwin & Associates is conducting a survey of historic architecture in selected areas of Lee, Sarasota, and Pinellas Counties. This effort will document buildings and structures that are 50 years of age or older to better understand and preserve the region’s architectural heritage.
The purpose of the survey is to identify and record architecturally significant properties that contribute to the historical character of these communities. in the affected disaster counties, in partnership with the Florida Division of Historic Resources and the National Park Service. For more information on the national CLG program see: Certified Local Governments (U.S. National Park Service)
This disaster recovery project is made possible with funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and is conducted in partnership with the Department of the Interior (DOI), the National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers (NCSHPO) and the associated Certified Local Governments.
