Brief Description of Event
The Dubin Center is launching a new program aimed at empowering people with cognitive impairment and their caregivers to get out and enjoy activities in the community. This program is designed to combat the loneliness and isolation that affects the many people living with dementia as well as their caregivers. The Out and About program is a way of allowing people with cognitive impairment and their caregivers to participate in educational and/or recreational activities in a low-pressure way, and removes the pressure on the caregiver to plan and schedule their own events.
The activity planned for this visit to the library will include making collages and reminiscence boards from clippings from magazines, catalogues, etc. Participants will have an opportunity to think about their favorite things from the past and share those fond memories with one another while creating a project that they can bring home with them. All supplies will be provided by the Dubin Center
