Program Description

Event Details

Children ages 6-11 are invited to the library to speak to a very special author who also happens to be a doctor. Don't miss your chance to meet Dr. Shay Smith, the author of What Type of Nurse Can I Be?: Exploring Nursing Careers From A to Z, for a nursing career chat. If you've ever wondered what it's like to be a nurse practitioner or thought about helping people stay healthy, this event is for you.

During Nurses: Real-life Superheroes, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • practice nursing skills
  • explore nursing tools
  • learn about different types of nurses

Whether you're curious about nursing or already know that you want to be a nurse when you grow up, come out and meet new friends who are future nurses just like you!
