Event Details

Our country is a nation of immigrants. Presidents have declared national emergencies surrounding the migration “crisis” and redirected billions of dollars from various government agencies to fund the construction of border walls along our southern border. Join us for a discussion led by foreign policy expert, Alan Van Egmond, regarding this important debate topic.

Mr. Alan Van Egmond served for 37 years as a career member of the U.S. Senior Foreign Service focusing on transitioning conflict-prone countries to peace and long-term development.  He has served with Congress, the Department of State, USAID and the Department of Defense. He has won numerous awards for his service including Distinguished Civilian Service Medals from USAID and the State Department, Three Exceptional Civilian Service Medals from the Department of Defense, and the Paul H. Nitze Award for Excellence in International Security Affairs.
