Event Details

Experience an exciting author presentation featuring New York Times and USA Today bestselling novelist Ellery Adams as she introduces her bold new work, Invasive Species, forthcoming from Hanover Square Press in April 2026. Copies of her books will be available for purchase at the event.

Ellery Adams is the acclaimed author of more than forty mystery novels, including The Secret, Book, and Scone Society, The Book Retreat Mysteries, and The Books by the Bay series. Beloved for her vivid portrayals of complex women and powerful female friendships, Adams now ventures into new territory with Invasive Species—a genre-defying blend of mythology, fantasy, folklore horror, and nostalgic coming-of-age storytelling. Set in 1982 Cold Harbor on Long Island, the novel follows four suburban women grappling with societal expectations and simmering frustrations, while an ancient mythological sea creature—hidden in plain sight as the mysterious Mrs. Smith—threatens their community. Rich in tension, imagination, and emotional depth, the story explores the monsters we fear…and the ones we become.

Adams draws inspiration from feminist myth retellings, fierce female protagonists, and the coastal landscape of her childhood. Her new novel reflects this mix—strange, compelling, and wholly original.
