Mary Mintz, president of the Jane Austen Society of North America, has made some new discoveries about how Jane Austen was perceived in the United States during the nineteenth century.  Her talk presents an overview of Jane Austen's appearance in U.S. magazines and features two Austen champions and one Austen detractor.
