Program Description

Event Details

A US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) officer will provide a general overview of the immigration system and laws in the United States. Topics covered include the role of the USCIS, the visa process, permanent residence (“green cards”), naturalization, and how to avoid immigration fraud. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.

This program will be livestreamed in the branch for attendees to watch and interact with the presenter virtually.

Un funcionario de los Servicios de Ciudadanía y Inmigración (USCIS) proporcionará una descripción general del sistema de inmigración y las leyes de los Estados Unidos. Los temas cubiertos incluyen el papel del USCIS, el proceso de visa, la residencia permanente ("tarjetas verdes"), la naturalización y cómo evitar el fraude de inmigración. Una sesión de preguntas y respuestas seguirá a la presentación.

Photography During Programs

While attending library programs, visitors may be photographed by library staff. Photographs become library property and may be used in library promotions. Individuals who do not want to be photographed or recorded are responsible for removing themselves from the area or notifying the photographer of their opt-out status.
