Program Description

Event Details

Join historians and award-winning authors John & Mary Lou Missall for a tour of Florida during the Seminole Wars, one of America's longest, costliest, and deadliest Indian Wars.  Lasting from 1812 until 1858, the Seminole Wars were fought from Pensacola, through the entire peninsula, and down into the Keys. The wars were one of the most formative events in early Florida, and many of the places associated with the conflict can still be visited today.  Come learn about local history that was also important on a national scale, and a forgotten conflict that is surprisingly relevant today.
