Cuba and the US have had an intimate relationship for long periods of time and the island holds a special place in the minds of many in the US. This lecture will retrace the history of the island, from its discovery in 1492 to the most recent developments. Upon completion, you will have a good grasp of the factors, events, and people that have shaped Cuban history and the intricate Cuba-US relationship.
