Program Description

Event Details

Learn how conservation works for you! Conservation areas are important for many reasons, including protecting our water supply and water quality, providing habitat for wildlife and maintaining green space for public recreation.

Find out more about Lee County’s Conservation 20/20 program, which provides Lee County residents and visitors with access to several nature preserves for hiking, wildlife observation, kayaking, and other outdoor activities. The program was established in 1996 through a voter referendum and was reaffirmed in 2016, when Lee County voters returned to the ballot box and voted overwhelmingly for the program to continue. Today, nearly 30,000 acres of conservation land is protected in Lee County through the program.

Presenter Jason Boeckman provides community outreach to educate the public about the Conservation 20/20 program. He also assists with its volunteer program. Jason is a graduate of Miami University in Ohio.
