Brief Description of Event

Event Title: Chew & Chats "Incarceration Conversations"

Bridging the Gap: Addressing Education, Mental Health, and Life After Incarceration

Event Description:
Our event will not only focus on addressing the challenges faced by those who have already been incarcerated, but also on prevention efforts to reduce the number of individuals who enter the criminal justice system.

Our goal is to provide a platform for those who have experienced incarceration to develop factual statistics and advocacy, as well as to raise awareness about the importance of prevention. We have three panelists who will each speak for 10 minutes on their respective topics, including life after incarceration, education and incarceration, and mental health and incarceration.

Following the panel discussions, we will have a community chat where attendees can share their thoughts and insights on both prevention and the topics discussed. Additionally, we will have an invisible panel of people who have been impacted by incarceration and can speak to the concerns raised by the panelists.

Finally, we have three community advocates who will share their experiences in advocating for individuals who have been incarcerated and in prevention efforts. They will provide practical insights on how individuals can get involved in advocacy and prevention efforts to support those who are impacted by incarceration.

Join us for this informative event and be a part of the conversation on prevention awareness and bridging the gaps in services for individuals who have been impacted by the criminal justice system.
