Come meet award-winning author Craig Pittman for an engaging presentation about his nonfiction book Cat Tale: The Wild, Weird Battle to Save the Florida Panther! Once thought to be extinct, the Florida panther’s survival became one of the most dramatic turnarounds in conservation history. In Cat Tale, Pittman uncovers the extraordinary story of what brought the species back from the brink.

Craig Pittman is a native Floridian. After 31 years at the Tampa Bay Times, he now writes a weekly environmental column for the Florida Phoenix and co-hosts the podcast Welcome to Florida. He is a four-time recipient of the Waldo Proffitt Award for Excellence in Environmental Journalism and a two-time winner of the Society of Environmental Journalists’ top investigative reporting award. He has written six non-fiction books about Florida, including Cat Tale and Oh, Florida!.

This event is part of the 27th annual Southwest Florida Reading Festival, to be held on Saturday, March 7. For more information about the festival, visit www.ReadFest.org.
