Peter Swanson delivers a psychologically twisted & shrewd tale of obsession, revenge, and cold-blooded murder in All the Beautiful Lies. Harry Ackerson has always considered his stepmother Alice to be sexy and beautiful. Alice, who usually presents herself as kind and attentive, has declined in the last few years. Harry learns that his father is dead and the police suspect it was a suicide. Distraught, Harry returns to his father's home in Maine. Together, Alice and Harry will help each other recover pieces of their lives and discover what has happened to his father. While in Maine, Harry meets an enigmatic young woman named Grace McGowan. Grace claims to be new to the area; however, Harry suspects she is not a complete outsider to the family. Additionally, Harry suspects that Grace is not the only woman taking an interest in him, as the sensual Alice is also growing fonder of him in a clearly sexual way. Captivated by both women, Harry finds himself falling deeper into their trance. However, the closer he gets to them the more distant he feels, unsettled by a mounting fear that both woman are hiding perilous secrets...and that neither one is telling the truth.
