Program Description

Event Details

Anne Frank, born in Frankfurt, Germany on June 12, 1929, lived most of her life in or near Amsterdam.  Her family moved to Amsterdam after the Nazis gained control over Germany, about the time she was four-and-a-half.  By May 1940, the Franks were trapped in Amsterdam by the German occupation and as hatred for Jewish people increased, the family went into hiding.  From July 1942 until their arrest by the Gestapo in August 1944, Anne kept a diary and wrote in it regularly.  Our story begins on July 6, 1942 in the Frank's secret annex hidden by bookcases in the building where Mr. Frank worked, and gives you a taste of what life was like for Anne.  Although a tremendous amount of hate drives these historical facts, this program about perseverance, hope, and love should leave viewers with a stronger, enduring message.
